The Violence Project launched the first version of the Mass Shooter Database in 2019, but gained nonprofit status in 2020. To reflect this change, I took their data-centric site and transformed it to represent the full extent of The Violence Project’s work.
I made it easier to explore The Violence Project’s media, publication, and press release archives.
To showcase our social media content, I added a page to the website and uploaded each post to our blog.
I even developed hard coding skills while working with Brian Williamson at Voice of America to embed his interactive graphic on our website to more effectively showcase the depth of The Violence Project’s data.
All of this was in addition to adding pages for TVP’s key findings, improving the donation page, consolidating and reorganizing the About Us pages and updating the “training and events” page to include The Off-Ramp Project.
